Black Children’s Book Fest
The purpose of Chapter 1 is to highlight the multitude of black children’s authors in DC, Maryland, Virginia and beyond. We seek to encourage attendees to support participating authors by purchasing their books and engaging in interactive storytimes.
Although Chapter 1 is based in the Bethesda/Chevy Chase area, we intend to bring authors together from across the DC, Maryland and Virginia metro area. Attendees will engage in live storytimes with coinciding interactive activities, calming exercises in our 4DMV Kids Space, and author meet and greets through The Vending Spot, where they can also purchase a plethora of themed children’s books. Refreshments will be served throughout the event pending sponsorship.
