Kid-friendly Activities in DC, Maryland & Northern Virginia this Weekend (2/28 - 3/2)
Greetings! Coming through with a huge thank you to all those who made it out for story times and activities this past Sunday at metrobar DC in honor of Black Children's Book Week. We partnered with DMV SVG Mutual Aid for their annual Black History Month event and provided a scavenger hunt and family tree craft for those in attendance. Proud mom moment: Liv asked to read to kids in attendance. She got a little nervous due to the crowd size and asked if I could read with her. By page 3, she had completely taken over! *insert claps emoji* I highly recommend encouraging your young reader to practice with an audience to not only build reading stamina but to also help develop public speaking skills. That audience could be your own or a neighbor's pet, a group of plushy friends or actual people. Tap the image above of Eva reading her book for a recap of Sunday's event that includes a listing of the participating authors! Now on to the events happening this weekend...
