Kid-friendly Activities in DC, Maryland & Northern Virginia this Weekend (4/11 - 4/13)

There's still time to check out the Earth to Space Festival at the Kennedy Center! We attended the Hidden Figures Brunch honoring African American influence on space travel. This brunch featured a panel discussion led by Kim R. Ford, CEO of Girl Scouts Nation’s Capital with Dance/Theatre/Production Icon Debbie Allen and Charles Bolden Jr., former NASA Administrator and astronaut. Did you know Debbie Allen's mother, Vivian Ayers Allen was a "Hidden Figure" at NASA?? She also wrote poetry and greatly inspired the Fame Legend we all know and love! Both Debbie and Charles held a book signing afterwards and we got pics *woot woot* Yes, I'm pressed and have added a collage of photos below LOL! The Earth to Space Festival is a mammoth of a festival that includes an immersive experience narrated by Tom Hanks, free art activities and craft for kids, exhibits, movie screenings and more! Scroll a bit to see the link to the listing of family friendly activities left for this weekend. Also, pro-tip: if you show up and there's no room left for the activities in the Moonshot Studio, don't worry! Those activities will continue after the festival on weekends through the end of April. Now on to more happenings for this weekend...
